Default finally got it figured out

Well my truck has been cutting out and hesitating real bad since I bought it in august and I finally got it fixed. It would miss at low RPMs and fall on its face at 2 grand. I replaced my fuel filter and helped alittle bit. This week I finally got fed up and had the spark plugs replaced and that didnt help. Turns out it was the #3 coil pack. no engine light or code or anything. Now it idles smoothly and no more hesitation. Im just hoping it brings my mpgs up from 16 just thought I would share my experience. Oh and it cost me 306 total for everything

Cool, congrats on getting it figured out & fixed.
You paid $306 for fuel filter, 8 plugs & 1 coil including labor? If so, not bad.

Doesn't it seem strange that you didn't get a miss fire code for cylinder #3? I thought a bad coil would get you a code every time.

the misfire has to reach a certain percentage before you will get a CEL so if the coil was able to fire 3 out 4 times there would be no light. but the truck would run like ***.
