Default Few Quick plug questions ???

I got an 08 f150 fx4 with 66000 miles and I'm doing the plugs this weekend. ( A little preventative maintenance ) I know i don't have the problem plugs so do i have to soak them in carb cleaner and pb blaster before i remove them? Should i do it anyways? Also has anyone heard of a plug breaking on an 08? Do i need a lisle on stand by? Thanks for any input

Cant hurt to soak them. I would just in case but no need to go crazy like if you had an 06. I havent heard of anyone breaking any plugs on an 08 but then again anythings possible. Just not very likely.

Check the build date on the 08. If it has the brown COP boots you won't have to worry about breaking them. If it has the black ones it is still the old design.

Mine had 58,000 on it and the Black COP's, I used the PB, didn't break any but three of them sounded like I was going to have the use my Lisle tool. They all came out....take your sweet ***** time doing this job, make no other plans for the day...I think it took me 4 hrs. to do this and I was sore the next couple a days..I found some muscles I haven't used in awhile.
I can totally understand the shops charging what they do for this job.
I didn't use my Lisle tool.
