A few questions from the NEWB
I am about to purchase a 2007 F150 4x4 Screw w/ 6.5 ft bed and want to put a leveling kit on it. My question is should I go with the 2 or 2.5 inch kit. I want the truck to set level as possible. I also want to run 33x12.50x20 tires. Would I want to go with a 20x8 or a 20x9 inch rim and what backspacing would I need? Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a 2 in level on mine and to me it sits perfect. Lot of guys have 2.5, i have heard(but not seen) with a full tank of gas the 2.5 makes the front end sit up a bit higher.

You'll want to shoot for a little lower offset than stock (Stock offset is +32mm for the 18s), this will keep you from rubbing the upper control arm, don't go to far or you'll clip the valence. Either rim width should be fine, offset is independent of rim width.
Backspacing is width dependent, here's the conversion chart: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-...ing-chart2.gif That said, I'd put your leveling kit on and break out the old tape measure to see what kind of clearance you actually have. |

The leveling kits range from 1.5 to 3 inches. Park your truck on level ground and measure to see what the difference is. You can use a floor jack to raise the front different increments to see which kit tickles your fancy.

i just did a 2.5" hbs kit on my 06 it looks real good i think. sits just about perfectly level only thing im gonna do is add a softride addaleaf in the rear so when i tow the snowmobiles and 4wheelers it wont look like the front is doing a wheelie but since i just put the kit on yesterday i dont even know what it looks like with a trailer on it yet it may not even be bad! you can see pics of my truck with the level kit in the thread i made labeled -hbs level kit pics-.
