3" is stock on these trucks, the only way you can lose scavenging is by doing true duals without an H or X pipe to complement... Back pressure will always be there with a y pipe, which you have already.... If you delete the rear cats and do a dual exit muffler, you should doing better then stock on towing.... A intake or gotts mod will compleat the package for more breathing room, and if you tow a lot then a tuner like an edge or an sct will unlock all that new found potential.

3in is not stock in these trucks it's 2.5. And all I run are magna's. They sound the best in my opinion if you want deep.

3" simply moves the powerband up a slight bit. Read the link in my sig for all the information on "backpressure" and why you shouldn't worry about it.

When I did my 3" si/so muffler and tail pipe I didn't notice any loss of low end torque. So you will be fine.

3" is the stock y pipe, after the front 2 1/2 pipes leading into it from the cats and exhaust manifold.

The 04-08 trucks have 2.5" going into the Y and after is 2.5" single going out stock.

I have a Dynomax on mine, but I'm going to turf it eventually and go with either a Borla or a Corsa. At the moment it's louder than my Hemi but it doesn't sound anywhere near as nice. And my Ram is stock.

Just double checked and your right. My mistake.... Im so used to seeing my 3" butt weld at the y pipe. It almost looks like it was always 3" coming out of the Y.....
My apologys to Seth for correcting you.

I have the same set up as Especial86 except the cats are still intact due to Ohio's emissions. Your sound clips are actually the reason that I went with that setup...it sounds awesome! In all honesty though, the 18" isn't all that loud. It sounds great on start-up, but it quiets down a lot when warm. If I had to do it again, I might go with the 14".
