Looks like I got bit by this bug. I'm hoping the replacement solves a cold engine misfire just off idle that I've had that never tripped any codes. Started the truck yesterday and right away I got a CEL and could feel the engine misfire, now much worse. It's not just a misfire for a few revolutions off ide- it's a dead cylinder. Until the RPMS came up to 1500+, the truck would barely move. Ran a code scan and showed #2 misfire. Then swapped that coil to #1 cylinder and the misfire followed and the engine ran the same. Have a new coil on the way from Rock Auto. Checked primary resistance on the failed coil and got 1.3 Ohm.

Very confident that the coil is the problem since the misfire followed it immediately. Should be here by the end of the week. Good thing the truck is not my daily driver.

 

New coil fixed it; truck never ran better.
