Default factory sub cutting out

I used the search function and didn't come up with anything. I recently bought a 2007 FX4 super cab with the factory sub. Sometimes it works and sometimes it shuts off. I pulled it out and check the connections, all seem fine. Maybe a loose connection from the head unit? Anyone else experience this? or is it a known issue? Thanks in advance.

Please be more specific. When it "shuts off," does it just cut out for a few seconds or is it going completely silent? At what volumes? Does it sound clippy or overdriven when you play music at a volume where it shouldn't be clipping?

It goes out completely. It doesn't seem to matter at what volume that radio is at. Everything sounds ok when its playing, no out of the normal sounds. It will sometimes come back on after 10-15 minutes.

On a side note, do you know if I can swap out the sub and still use the same box? I like how it is sleek and hidden.

it's a sony 8" sub... but, you may want to find out why the current one is cutting out...may not be the sub..
