Default Factory Sub Box and Amp

I have a 2006 Lariat Supercab and looking to add the FACTORY sub box/amp under the backseat. Should my truck be prewired for this system ??? Is it plug and play??? Sorry i'm not a wiring guru by any means so I'm hoping this is a quick/simple upgrade for me. Thanks for everyones help in advance.

Check underneath the rear drivers side seat, if there is an unused gray/black plug I believe it should be plug and play.

You need to make sure you have three wire plugs on the back of your headunit before you get it because most of the lariats and higher trim packages came prewired but do not have the audiophile headunit.

- Will this "unused" gray/black plug be easily visable when I lift up the rear seat ???

- Noob question, but how difficult is it to remove the factory headunit ??? Also what does it mean if I DO or DON'T have the 3 plugs behind my radio ??? So It wouldn't be as simple as to plug the factory system into that "unused" plug and screw the box down, I'd still have to plug something into the back of the headunit as well ???

Factory unit is easy, the bezel ls clipped on, use a plastic pry tool or a flat head and pop the bezel around the radio and hack controls loose, loosen 4 bolts, and radio is out.

If you do not have the sub plug in on the back of your headunit then you will have to buy the audiophile headunit because the wire under the rear seat has to plug into the back of your headunit to be able to work.

I also have a lariat and it came with the box the sub itself is decent quality bass but poor quality made my sub just like yours is made out of paper it will eventually rip mine did .the amp is low power and might have burnt out or tripped a fuse. I used the box it came with put kickers new low profile sub and a kicker amp sounds great and made to the best quality
