I recently purchased an 06 xlt 2wd standard cab. The dealer did not give me any key fobs.
The truck has an led light on the dash driver side and I'm wondering if it has an alarm already installed.
Question is,
How can I tell if my truck came factory with keyless entry or an alarm? Also where would I find the module or system if it did?

The light doesn't do anything. It's just a fake warning for burglars...

How can I check if there is anything before I go buy a keyless entry setup and have it installed? Much easier to just buy fobs.

 

I don't really know... When I got mine, (2007 XLT) about a month ago, it only came with one set of keys and I asked the dealer if I can get another set. They said something about a code on the remote and that a remote would cost about $150 and just the key is about $70. I think you have to go to the dealership if you want to get a remote. I think yours probably came with keyless entry, though, since all the XLTs I looked at has it.

 

I finally found a thread started by someone else asking the same question. Someone replied that if it has a harness under the steering wheel labeled remote start then it did come with keyless. Gonna check it out in the morning. Thanks for the help.
