Default Factory installed remote starter

Two issues:

1) When i push the button to remotley start my truck, all the engine does is turn over and over, but i can still start the truck with my key.

2) I cannot find this reset button for the remote start anywhere under the dash. I would like to disable this remote starter feature because now it sometimes interferes with me starting the engine by key, no power to the starter.

Any help would be great

With a remote starter (aftermarket?), you'd still need a physical key by the ignition switch to satisfy the PATS (passive anti theft system). The key has a "transmit chip" that sends a signal to a transiever ring located around the ignition switch, behind the plastic steering column cover. This is all part of the factory security system; it prevents the truck from starting (disables ignition) without the proper key and coded signal for PATS). Some folks have taped one of their keys inside the cover to allow the remote start function to work (key transmits it's signal to the transiever). This assumes this is an aftermarket type remote start kit.

Okay so I have a question about my remote start now. It is a factory ford remote start, now i do not know who installed it b/c nothing is soldered it is just wrapped and taped. ANyway I was wantin go know why everything works on my keypad but my remote start. Does anyone have any ideas. Also if I can't get the remote start to work can I just unhook everything and use the same remote?

Okay so I give ford-key a call and it didn't cost me anything to my suprise. But the only thing they told me was that its the hood sensor or the brake sensor. So I kind of rolled out the hood sensor.. Now the brake sensor is what I figure it is, b/c I can start my truck without touching the brake. I just don't know if this is do to the remote start or not. I am also having some problems with my cruise control so where do all these tie togethor. Does anyone have an idea with what has gone bad?
