Factory air suspension on 04 FX4?
I decided to take a look at my fuel module under the spare tire today and noticed that I have air bags just inside the leaf springs. There is a hose that runs out the top to the wheel well...Are these factory? I haven't read any thread that mentioned them and if not, can i pump them up or what do I do with them?
Arrow showing where the line come out to the wheel well
Line from the top of one of the the bags
closer look at the wheel well
Just another pic showing where they sit in relation to the leaf springs
Thanks folks!

Damn it! All but the first are upside down!
So if I am going to load up the bed, I should make sure they are pumped up? How much psi?
Is the truck lifted, or are those blockes under the leaf spring factory?
I know, I know...but this is the first truck I've ever owned

Blocks under the leaf spring are factory. Follow the air lines to see where they lead. you should have an air compressor mounted somewhere to pump up the air bags. If not, the previous owner must have taken the compressor before selling the truck. Also look for a switch on the dash to control it.

I have never noticed a switch in the cab....there is an aftermarket electronic trailer break control though

you may not have a compressor. They look like the firestone airbags I had on my chevy. The lines may run out to regular air fittings (like the ones on your tire). Just fill them with air. If I remember right you want to keep a minimum of 8-10psi in them at all times, and the max is something like 100psi. Google firestone ride rite, and you should be able to find an owners manual.

No compressor in that setup you can see the schraeder valve for airing them up. Use a regular tire chuck for airing up. When you load up the bed ir tow a trailer air them up so the suspension is at normal ride height. Just lowered the back of my truck with shackles so I may add some airbags like this to mine for when I haul stuff.

I'd drop some cash and get a compressor...

Looks like same kit I have on my truck. Aktrolin is right about the min pressure. Mine are 8-10 min, 85 psi max. My kit doesn't have a compressor, and mine have the air lines wyed to a single fill valve that I mounted just under the bumper for easy access. I love mine. I use them all the time when I pull my trailers. If you pump them up and don't have load on it, your truck will ride rough and bounce all over so keep that in mind.
