This is kind of a side note to this thread but i notice some underseat boxes face up and face down under the seat so they are protected but some face out. Is there a sound diffrence? And if the subs face out can i put a metal guard or grate infront of it to protect them?

 

Yes you can screw a cover to the sub. But from what I've read, up firing subs put more bass to the air, so it's heard in the truck and outside the truck - down the street, obnoxious loud bass, etc. Down firing subs put bass to the frame and body so the bass stays inside the truck. I have a down firing box and inside the truck, the bass makes your heart stop lol but 10 feet away, you can barely hear it.

 

Kind of off topic here but are you trying to get rid of your under seat box to switch to one that you are trying to find, or just trying to have four subs in your truck?

 

Well if I can find one... I'd probably sell the under seat box and keep my subs.
