A buddy of mine owns a 2005 (i think) f150 xlt and the lights that you push in to turn on and push to turn off both of them don't work any more and we can't figure out how to take it off to change the bulbs or to see what the problem is

i know how the 97-03 ones come off but not sure about this one

 

"To get the console that has the map lights in in it, just grab each side and pull. You have to pull pretty hard, but that's how to do it." - From a quick google search (User also owned an '05)

I would also suggest checking for blown fuses if the light bulbs arent a problem
