Default F-ing Brake dust!!!

I bought my 08 XLT supercab with the 18" chrome cover wheels in December, and I cant keep up with the brake dust building up on them. It has started staining them and I don't know how to clean them without hurting the rims. What should I use to prevent it and to clean it??....

And is there any other brake pads we can get that will not leave so much dust. I just don't see other trucks with the amount that ours have.

I just have the factory rims and the dust was driving me nuts, guy at local parts store said he put ceramic pads on the front and it helped the problem a lot...so I tried it, replaced them myself aboiut 3 weeks ago and I can say it has helped a lot....

Carquest blue pads almost eliminate the dust for good.

I have heard about those wheel liners while back when researching how to keep my Mustang rims clean. Although I like the idea, I've ran across a few folks at car and truck shows who have installed them and didn't like them as over time due to the excessive heat in that area, they warped/melted and were a pain in the butt to remove.

Personally, I'd just toss some ceramic pads on and call it a day.....stockers will leave a lot of brake dust.....

Heard these don't allow for air to properly circulate around the brake, causing excessive heat. Not a good thing when towing.

Like most others, I'd suggest swapping the pads out. I've dealt with the issue since purchasing my truck, but will make sure to reaplce with ceramic once these pads wear out.
