I even had them exit in front of the wheels on another truck, but it was a reg cab and it got a little noisy on long rides
the best i have had is what i got now
Never thought about the angle exits in the cold !! Good call. And I know what you mean about hooking up trailers!! And I will mainly be in truck for longer rides so I don't want to go that route for in cab noise

Love your truck man!! I came across your truck somewhere around here and ever since I've been wishing a supercharger will show up one day!! I don't think I can go with the lightning exit for in cab noise but I will say I really like the look on yours!

Ahh!! Next question was gonna be tip size. I now plan to angle exhaust but stock location as yours shows with 3" pipe but for the tip I was thinking 5".....

You have any pictures of yours further back from truck and level with tip??

Looks good btw!

This is the last pic I have other than the ones I've already posted, if you need another one just let me now and I'll snap a pic and post it.

Thanks man. Lots of hard work put in to her. The in cab noise is really not that bad. It's not what you would think. Here's a little comparison I did between my highly modified truck and my newest bone stock company van. Both are in excellent shape I love my vehicles like kids since I don't have any. Both with brand new tires so road noise would be cut out of this and both have between 80,000 and 84,000 miles. Note: no fan, radio nor any other source of noise was allowed. Here it goes.

07 F150 5.4 V8 Longtubes, 2.5 duals, 4" tips, Lightning style.
Idle 60db
45mph 76db
60mph 79-81db
70mph 83-85db

08 Chevy Van 3500 4.8 V8 (Bone Stock)
Idle 55-57db
45mph 73-75db
60mph 79-81db

As you can see pretty much a wash. The only difference is the van is quiet hum like any factory ride, and the truck is more of a deep rumble. i would love to do this test with a factory truck. May have to borrow a friends truck
Here's an in cab video of mine at the drag strip with the back window down 1-2 inches. With the windows up I can have the radio between 4-6 blocks and hear fine.

Heres one I'm not proud of as it needs editing and there is some crackling from the camera but you can hear the truck start and idle high with the doors and windows closed. Then under hood and to the tips for a quick free rev.

SJP- thanks!! That picture worked as needed. I was wanting to see how the 6" looked in size comparison to the body of the truck. I know our body styles are different but close enough for my visual.

I like the looks of that tip! Is it a 3"-6" tip or do you have an adaptor?
