Default Engine swap

Hi there, I own a 2004 FX4 that I bought with VERY high mileage. The good news is it has a brand new crate engine and most everything under the hood is new as well. The bad news is recently the transmission blew out, the front brakes seized, the 4wd went out and the power steering is oozing everywhere. Question is, will this engine transfer to pretty much any reasonably recent F150s or is it more particular than that. If it can be transferred does anyone know a good place to look for a nice not totally worn out F150 4 x 4 with a blown engine I could buy really reasonably? Any advice would be great... my bud is a great mechanic and will do the work but I have to hopefully find the stuff!

Since it's the 5.4 3v - it will fit in any 2004-2008 trucks that came with the 5.4 3v.

As far a buying a truck with a blown 5.4 - I see a lot of 2004/2005 trucks on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace that have bad/failing engines.

If you're asking warranty wise, it's tied to that trucks Vin.
