Default Engine startup

Might be a stupid question but does anybody elses engine idle high at start untill you put it in gear. and when you throw a rev it takes a little bit of time to idle back down.... forgive me if this is normal. I went from a v6 stang to a cobra to a f150 so i dont no if its just the 5.4s nature

Yeah mine does the same thing. Normal far as I know. No problems related to this so far. I guess the 5.4 needs to get it's juices flowing ?

Yea its totally normal. Most newer V8 pickups do that. just tap the accel lightly and it'll idle down sooner.
