Default engine questions

My new 08 f150 came with the 4.6 engine the way I know it is on the factory window sticker when I got the truck.
Is there any way to tell what engine is in the f150?

Will putting a after marker air intake on my stock 4.6 engine do anything for me good or bad?

I am thinking about something like a K&N intake system and filter.

as far as i know it should be labeled either on a sticker ontop of the radiator or on the intake cover although i could be mistaken, woth a look though!!! and adding a cold air intake will do a little bit, its not bad for the engine it lets it breathe better but as far as performance goes there wont be a whole lot of gain in that area... however theyre not very expensive and its a good starting point for after market mods so id say GO FOR IT!!!

an intake will not give you much unless u get a exhaust and a tuner then you will get some great gains other than that you wont be thrown back in your seat by adding a intake a engine is no more than a pump the more air you take in the more air you need to get out!!
