Default Engine Oil Cooler

so i think i have come upon a nice little sandwich style oil cooler that will fit the truck and i have a couple of question.

Will i still be able to screw on my oil filter after i get the adapter on?

cooler oil is better/longer lasting oil, but if it drops 30-50* will i still be at an ok operating temp?

if i do put it on, im just going to mount it opposite of my transmission cooler.

i do little to no off roading but i do pull quite a bit on the weekends, especially during the summer so its important to me to keep her cool.

An oil cooler would be a nice add on. If you added a filter relocation that would be a bonus. Operating temp should not change (regulated by the cooling system). Benefit would be slower breakdown of the oil and additives (as with the trans cooler).

im really thinking about it. turns out the one the guy was going to give me does not allow for adapters at it is designed to work with a late model GM vehicle.

one thing that worries me is that i have a 5.4 and we all know about the dirty little cam phaser problem and i already sound like a diesel, which makes me wonder how the phasers will be affected by changing the oil system. so im wondering if i wouldnt just be better off saving my money and putting new phasers in it. i can do the work myself but,
