The FPDM is a known culprit for fuel delivery issues. It's a module located at the back of the truck, by the spare tire (in front of the spare tire, mounted on a center frame rail). This modules back plate literally rusts through because of salt or water getting between it and the frame it bolts against. It controls the "on/off" cycle of the fuel pump that's located in the fuel tank.

If you turn the key to on (not starting), you should be able to hear the fuel pump (at the gas tank). If not, check this FPDM first.

Search on it here; you'll find threads on it.
