3 Werks ago i want to Start the 5.4l 2007 HD Crew Cab and there was a loud noise
I just shut down the engine and he was towed

Later i check the engine and there was a part of the infold falling into



And this caused a hole in one piston




Now my question did anybody had a fail like this before

Damn, looks like maybe a follower may have got stuck, caused the valve to drop and it tore up the piston. How is the head, any of the valves gone or stuck? There have been a couple members here over the last 6 or 7 months that have had a valve drop because of locked up followers and did pretty close to their piston as yours is now.
