Default Engine Cutting Out 2005

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

I am just back from having my truck hooked up to the diagnostic computer. They are finding it is misfiring but only under heavy acceleration. I found my records of my spark plugs being replaced, they were replaced 26k miles ago. Coils have never been replaced. FPDM???

Any Suggestions???

I have a 05 F150 Crew Cab with a 5.4 engine. 176,xxx miles currently on the truck. Stock truck for the most part. I have an AIRAID CID and a Banks Exhaust. I replaced the plugs about 50k miles ago and have never done the coils. I replaced the fuel filter about 50k miles ago as well.

I am experiencing the engine cutting out or "missing" when there is any load on the engine or an incline in the highway. When there is a major incline or grade, the cutting out or "missing" becomes more frequent and intense.

Spark Plugs replacement?
Coil replacement?
Fuel Filter replacement?
Fuel Pump replacement?

Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thank you in advance for any and all recommendations.

FPDM. Replace it. Feel like I've had to tell 50 people on here the same thing within the last week. Do a bit of searching on here before posting please.

Any check engine light/codes?

If it's missing there should be.

No check engine lights are on. Then again, not sure if they even work on this truck, they have never been on.

FPDM=FUel Pump Driver Module.

It's located above your spare, drop the spare and check it out, they have a tendency to corrode and fail.

Might want to take it to a garage and see if there are any pending codes.

When hooked up to a diagnostic computer, will the FPDM trigger a reading if it is bad?

FPDM will eventually cause an excessive fuel pressure or no fuel pressure code, but only while running.

I think suspecting the FPDM is reaching IMO. If it was missing all the time then maybe but it sounds like it is missing when under load. Still worth checking to see if it has any corrode holes in it but they seem to go out more frequently if you live in the snow or rust belt.
I would suspect the ignition system first. You have not stated the maintenance history but at 175k I would look at plugs first then COPs and a fuel filter is not a bad idea. 10-20$ for a filter and relatively easy to change.

He stated the plugs and fuel filter have been done within the last 50K miles.
