I tried to find this as I’m sure it’s been discussed but I can’t find d it
need to do an engine swap
we have an 04 and the 8th digit is a 5
seems like something is weird with the 04
it is the new style 3v engine but when you search for engines when it is a 04 vin 5 all you get is 04 vin 5
when you go to 05 vin code 5 you get 2005 / 06 / 07 / 08
what is different about the 04 it would have been the first year of the new style 5.4 and can you just move those parts over to complete the engine swap

That is exactly what you will have to do. Bare block is the same. No doubt small differences with intake over the years.
