Engine Bucking Upon Stopping While Towing
Recently began hauling a 6000lb Airstream with my mostly stock F150 (5.4, Auto, Power Commander, Gotts, 15K on new plugs). Has only happened 3 times over nearly 3000 miles, on both 87 and 88 octane, as follows:
Coming to fast stop after exiting a highway, the engine begins to buck like crazy. Doesn't happen on slower, traffic stops. No other specific variables come to mind (A/C, etc) but am open to looking for any suggested clues in the future. The last two times, I placed it in Neutral and it settled down. The first time, I thought it was going to come out the lid.
Where do we start?
