i have an 08 XL 4.2l i recently added a 2.5in leveling kit and will soon add 33" a/t's my friend keeps telling me im going to bogg the heck out of that lil engine if i add 33's....is this true?

 

i have 32x10 on my 07 XL 4.2 and it runs just fine...you are just gonna loose some acceleration but it should turn the tires with no problem...i want to put 4.30 gears in mine to get some extra grunt outa my 4.2

 

what kind of gas mileage do you get?

 

i was getting 18 mpg all day long then i made the switch to high octane gas and put some NGK iridium plugs in and now i get between 20 and 21...i also have a hard top bed cover..might be helping me out as well on the mpg.
