Default Electronic Throttle Control Question

Is it OK to replace the Electronic Throttle Control Module with out having to replace the accelerator pedal Position Sensors? I have been having some issues which I thought were related to the transmission, took it in to the transmission shop and the manager said the transmission is fine but the engine is not producing power and the trans is shifting funny which he said from past experience has been related to the ETC sending bad signals to the PCM.

Thanks

yes u can, i just changed mine with no issues, unfortunaly it didnt do anything, i forget what the members name is but he found something out about reseting the throttle and throttle body, and alot of members had great improvement heres how, sit in ur truck with the doors closed, turn the key to on position do not start it, after the chimes slowly press the gas pedal to the floor, then release it quickly, and turn the swich to off, do this three times, it allows the computer to resink the throttle position, mine was off by alot, wot was at 67% now its at 108%, huge improvement in throttle response and power, hope this helped

Thank You, I will try that today. I am not having the CEL come on just going off of what the trans shop guy told me. I was thinking I would replace that sensor and just clean the stock throttle body real good.

Just curious? is there a time to wait (few seconds or longer?) from when I turn the key off to when I turn it back to the on position?
