Electrical wiring help
Well ive got reverse lights made by KC. they use a relay and i have tied them in to my 7-pin connector so they come on whenever the truck is in reverse. but, since i dont want them on in the day, i have a DPDT switch that has on/off/on positions.
the switch has 6-pins, but i only used three of them- 1. power 2. a wire from the relay 3. ground.. my problem is that with the switch off, the lights still come on in reverse
... but they do come on with the switch on (not in reverse) so that part is working. would anyone know why the switch doesnt turn the lights completely off?
and, i have to find a way to power the switch once i get it inside the cab. does any one have a suggestion as to how i could accomplish that?.. could i simply wrap the wire around a fuse and just plug it back in?
thanks for any help

I'm thinking about adding backup lights as well. Id like run mine off a switch mounted next to my headlight ****. But I'm clueless on where to get good power so I can turn them on and off at will... And also what the best path to run wires all the way to the rear of my truck? Any help for me? How did u end up doing yours? Sorry to dig up an old thread...
