Electrical Issues
This is on a 2004 F150 XLT ext cab w/ 31000 miles.
I hope someone out there may have seen this and can assist. I took my truck to a locksmith yesterday to have an extra transponder key made. After being there for over an hour, they told me that they were looking at the wrong entry in the book and coded the key wrong. I had to get back to work so I paid them for the 2 keys and opted to leave the truck w/ them and pick it up when I got off work.
They were closed when I got there and with no keys made, had left a note in my truck to call them in the morning. While I was driving home I noticed a wrench light lit on the dash. The next morning when I went to take my son to school, I checked the dash and this light was no longer lit and stayed off.
When I got back in my truck to leave for work, I had 3 idiot lights lit. The wrench, the e-brake and the abs. About 1/2 way to work (approx 3 miles) both my tach and spedo started dancing and the dash light up like a christmas tree with ALL lights lit. Then the tach and speedo quite working with all lights still on.
I imidiately took it to my mechanic and he checked all the fuses which were fine. He then tried hooking up the computer to my OBDII but it wasnt giving any power so he couldnt get any codes. He didnt have time to look it at length so I am stuck.
