I know they are essentially the same, but im running 35"s and I'd like better MPG. i know they both offer transmission, tow, and 93 octane performance. Id like the Gryphon because it offers custom tunes and id get 87 performance for sure, im looking at $430 vs $350. For me, is the gryphon worth it?

 

I think it's worth it. having a custom job may be worth the money but if they did a great job on that.

 

Try searching it. There's been a ton of post on both of them.

 

Its almost $100 more but I'm leaning more towards the gryphon. Everyone says its worth it. Is the install the same on both?

 

I was just doing a lot of reasearch on this within the last week and from what I gathered the Gryphon is a rebadged Edge Evo. If you get the Edge Evo you can send it to PHP and they will upgrade it to a Gryphon so you can run custom turnes such as 85 performance/tow, 87 performance/tow and so on. I think the Edge is a better route if you have a mostly stock truck (performance wise). The Gryphon will work better for people with a CAI and other mods that may not work well with the tunes that Edge offers. The Gryphon is going to be a more custom fit for you truck were the Edge is more generic for anyone's truck.

In all the research I did everyone has their own opinion on which one is better...Look at it this way if you get the Edge you can always send it off to PHP and have the custom tune upgrade if your not happy with what you get. From what I have read the install should be the same on either programmer.
