Default edge question

i was talking to my grandpa today about possibly getting a edge evo eventually for my truck but not really sure if it would be worth it. he walked out to his garage and brought one to the table that he has for one of his duramaxs and said i could have it if i wanted it since he has a diffrent one for his truck he has now. my question is would it be possible to get one reflashed to be able to use on my truck? and what a about buying a new harness since his is all spliced into so it would work for his truck. if there is a cheap way to do this that would be awesome

I don't think that it will work. But I could be wrong. However the edge is worth the money. Look around, I got mine for 250.00

That will NOT work. The Edge unit your GF has is for a diesel and a Chevy at that. The harness he has all spliced up includes an EGT monitor and a whole boatload of stuff that is useless on a gasser. What you need is an Edge Evolution EEF2400.

I was also thinking about an edge to help out with fuel mileage. Any idea on what the mpg gain would be?

It really depends on the driving conditions and the driver. I was seeing a consistent 16-17 on lvl3 and 15-16 on lvl2. I did see 20 while on a roadtrip to TN with lvl3.
