Has anyone ever experienced their Edge programmer draining their battery? I noticed the backlight of the programmer was on one night and the next day my battery was dead. Out of the blue. I've had the programmer installed for several months and there have been no issues or even any other changes to the truck. Any thoughts?

 

I have had mine in for about a year and have not had this problem. It does not seem like it would draw a lot of power and when the key is off mine is dark.

 

When the key is off, mines goes dark as well.
maybe something is deffective in your unit, check with the manufacturer.

 

Mine has always gone dark with key off as well. This just started happening. Thought it was a bit odd. Thanks for your replies.

 

Sounds like you have a short that is applying power to your OBC port and subsequently the programmer when the key is off. Definitely get it checked out because it could cause other problems.

Post what you find in case other Edge people run into it.

 

I just put an Edge Evo CS on my 08 F150 Friday. Went to crank it tonight and the battery was too weak to turn it over, and the cd changer was going haywire. The backlight hasn't been staying on.
