Default edge evolution issues

I have been running my evolution 2 for about 3 weeks not and I have noticed different behaviors... some good some I am not sure about. Most of the time it makes it much more fun to drive but once in a while I notice a hesitation. I have also knocked the trani firmness to negative 25 (-25) to keep it from dropping my trani on the concrete.. it shifts hard. I was running 87 tow tune on the evolution.

That said today I was leaving work and coasting down the parkade and a warning came up on my truck.. Transmission fault disabled overdrive or something like that and the overdrive light was flashing.. I pulled off to the nearest parking spot and reset back to stock.

Should I be concerned about this? Anyone else have this issue? I am nervous to turn it back on.

I had that same problem a while back but I didn't have the edge programer at the time. The same warning came on and my trans wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear but when I turned off overdrive it worked just fine no warning no slipping. I didn't have enough money at the time so I ended up driving with it like that for a year, not the best for the truck but I had to get to work some how. When I finally took it in and had the tranny rebuilt the mechanic I took it to said that it was the overdrive band that when bad and that it is commin and happens all the time and that there's not much you can do to prevent this from happening. I don't know if that's what is happing to your truck. Has is slipped at all? Or is it just the warning?

I no longer have the error - and the OD is working just fine. I just don't know if this is a result from the programmer or if the truck has issues.

I doubt it's the edge...

It's not the edge, it's a problem with your transmission. I wouldn't even use the edge until you resolve it, I've heard of others who had similar problems and they never used a tuner.

I wanted to update everyone on this. I worked with Bill at PHP. He is awesome. Highly recommended. He did not like what he saw in the programming and set me up with a custom tune that is working very well. No hard shifting good power and increase in mpg. Bill and PHP rock.

Thank Bill
