I was looking into getting a programmer for my 04 f-1 with the 5.4. I got a guy that has a troyer-tuned SCT tuner that he will sell to me for $75, then I would have to send it to Troyer and re-program it for $225. But I only have exhaust on my truck and a different air filter for now, so would a custum tune be a waste?

on ebay they are selling new Edge Evos for $335 w/ free shipping. Good deal? how well do these work and how harsh are they on the truck?

also, there are the Hypertech Econ tuner and superchips flashpaq for similar prices.

What would you guys recommend? I dont plan on doing any crazy mods, maybe just an intake with the tuner, and im mainly looking to get more throttle response, better shifts, and maybe some better mpg's would be nice

 

also eyeballing the diablosport predator tuner, sct xcal3, and hypertech max energy.

i really like the edge because of the display you get in the truck. but any info will be great!
