Default Edge Evo Problem

Hey Guys,

I tried a search on this topic, and found a few things but nothing that helped. I just got an Edge Evo yesterday and after I installed it I ran into a problem. I tried to change the performance settings to Level 1 to test it out, but the evo said it couldn't communicate with my truck computer. I tried unplugging the evo as it said and doing it a few more times, but kept getting the same error. The tech support said they were going to send me a new one, and if that didn't fix it I may need my truck computer reflashed. If that doesn't do it, who knows...

Anyone got any ideas in the meantime?

I have an 08 XLT Scab 5.4

Make sure your battery and the fuse for the OBD port are in good order. I'd also suggest starting out on level 2 as this tune will change both the transmission and engine parameters. Level 1 will only change the transmission and is kind of a let down IMO.

I'll check those out. Any idea where the OBD fuse is?

I figured level 1 would be kinda lame, but I just wanted to see the differences

I don't recall off the top of my head which number, just look in the owner's manual (it's the same one as the cig lighter). I'm sure it's not blown, as you had power to the port, but sometimes when it's loose it will give power but not enough to communicate to the PCM.

#41 fuse usually, 20 amp mini fuse, in the fuse fox by the passenger side foot inside the truck

Passenger compartment fuse panel / power distribution box
The fuse panel is located under the right-hand side of the instrument
panel. Remove the trim panel and fuse box cover to access the fuses.
To remove the fuse box cover, place
a finger behind the PULL tab and
your thumb above the PULL tab as
shown in the illustration, then pull
the cover off.

41 20A* Cigar lighter, Diagnostic connector
power

Just checked my manual, tried reseating any and all PCM fuses. Guess I'll just have to wait for the new evo. Any idea how much reflashes run?
