E-brake!
Well apparently my e-brake has been engaged for the last several thousand miles
.
I baby my truck driving due to gas and take mostly highway, 55-60 speed limits and I have been getting 11.5-11.6
I had originally thought it was the super soft winter tires and driving in the cold and what not...well not completely all those factors don't help.
When I mounted my summer rims and tires yesterday with my lift kit my friend and I drove slow to make sure everything settled in. Every time I was on the gas it sounded like a metal pipe was dragging on the ground. Obviously we got out and looked around but saw nothing. We then checked the ebrake and found that while it does work and somewhat release for normal use it is not releasing all the way.
When my windows are up you can barely hear it (hence why I never noticed during the winter). When the music is on at all, you'd never know.
I thought I could feel it rub a little when pulling out of a lot and the wheel was spinning slowly but never thought it was anything. So we took it on the highway and I pushed the ebrake to the floor...it kept driving how it normally does, maybe a little more gas needed but not much. When releasing it while still driving you can feel it get a little smoother. Couldn't get it to stop going in reverse or anything.
Anything I can try doing before it goes in Wednesday to get fixed?
I am pissed I have to spend money on it in a "not modding style" but driving a 6000lb brick with the e-brake on is destroying my funds!
Thanks for any help you guys can help me out with!!
Edit: Also, when I take my foot off the gas the sound stops.
