Default dvd player question

I just bought an oem DVD player for my 2004 screw and I was wondering if I could watch a movie while the truck was off or if I shouldn't because it would kill my battery.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thanks, plowman

Could I attach a power limiter/saver like you would to subs in order to help save the battery.
