Drivers seat position controls and mirrors do not work
Hey everyone. Just bought a good used 2007 Super cab with a couple issues. The passenger seat will adjust but the driver's side does not. Neither side view mirror will adjust. With some difficultly, I confirmed that #3 fuse 7.5A is OK. The odometer is not backlit so it is very difficult to read. Have I got a bulb out?? I've ordered electrical wiring diagrams. Has anyone encountered similar problems or have a suggested fix?. Thanks in advance.

Reason: choice
OK, I think I know what the problem is. It worked on my truck: driver's seat works, pedal position works, mirrors work.
It seems that there is a wire splice in a very poor position in the truck, and this is a very common problem. I have repaired mine, and I took pics of the fix. So, here are the instructions:
1. Remove the fuse panel access cover in the passenger kickpanel. It pulls out from the front and is "hinged" at the back with tabs into the kickpanel.
2. Remove the passenger door sill. Just pull straight up on it, it'll come.
3. Pull the weatherstripping going forward up high enough to expose the kickpanel edge.
4. Remove the passenger kickpanel. Pull it straight back. It's a little tough to get it to break loose, but again, it'll come.
5 There is a large wiring harness running down from behind the fuse panel to the floor, then back under the door sill. You will need to remove the tape that is wrapping the harness, near the front where it makes it's turn backwards, like this:
6. Now, dig through the harness and look for the orange wire with the green stripe. It is most likely broken at the splice, as shown here. Expose enough of each half so you can work on it. As you can see in this next pic, mine was broken completely apart, and there is corrosion present when looking at where the two halves were once spliced.
7. So, now you know what the problem is: a broken wire splice. Simply cut the wire back a short distance (1/4" behind the splice should be sufficient) and repair it. You'll most likely need a short piece of wire to add into the circuit, because cutting the splice out will shorten the halves too much to splice them directly back together. I soldered a short piece of wire in, and then used heat shrink tubing to insulate and protect the joint.
8. After repairing the wire, TEST EVERYTHING. Make sure that your seat, mirrors and pedals work. Most likely they will, but there's nothing worse than buttoning everything up and finding out that the splice was not done properly.
9. Put all the panels back in reverse order of the removal.
My problem situation was Identical to yours, Alex. Can't thank you enough. You deserve a gold star! I'm wondering how exactly you found the break in the first place? I've got the digital wiring diagrams and I'll try to post the relevant page for someone elses benefit. Thanks again.
First, I want to apologize if I'm replying wrong. Secondly, I want to say thanks, I would've never figured that out! My issue looked exactly like yours, down to the color of the truck. Brilliant. Now I just have to figure out why the driver's side lock button and windshield washer doesn't work....
