yup had this problem for about 6 months then it finally went out. if you go to the ford dealership it is 70$ for the assembly and it changes in about 3 minutes. If you go to auto zone expect to pay 100$ plus for this switch thats what they quoted me at. i was going to get it covered under my warranty but i have a 100$ deductible so i just bought it from their service center and changed it myself right in fords parking lot. good luck and if you know its going out you should go ahead and just change it that way you dont get stuck in the rain with your window down exactly like i did haha

Default Control Switch

I had the same problem with my Ford F-150. I figured out how to fix it. All you should need is a flat head screwdriver. First take the control box out of the door and unplug it. Next pop off the button covers with the screwdriver or your fingers. They just snap off and on. Take your dust protectors out of the switch. Then get the screwdriver and go around the seem of the box and lightly pop the sides of the box up till it completely comes off. Next carefully pop the problem switch out that is held by little tabs. There should be 2 main legs on the switch and one is probably worn down. I just pulled the worn leg out and swapped it out with one from another window switch that I don't use. Put it back together carefully and it should work like a brand new switch. Plus it will save you about $90 from buying a new switch. Hope this helps you out.

Rolling down is no problem, however, rolling up always seems to be a problem. I have to press the switch 3 or 4 or maybe even 5 times till it rools up. I know I still have the warranty on my truck but not sure if something such as this would be covered. Does anyone know what the cause of this would be? Any help I greatly appreciate.

Default F-150 Window switches

Hi All,

I am new to this site and hope to learn and pass on things.

I am having the same issue as everyone else here with the window switch. They are not that hard to replace yourself. Just pop the door panel off and replace the switch. You should have some screws or buttons to pop off.

I have ordered switches from www.switchdoctor.net and the prices are much better than the dealer. These switches work great out of the box and they come with a lifetime warranty. Check them out. If you don't have the tool to pop the buttons off, usually at the bottom of the door panel and some on the sides, you can borrow one from stores like Advanced Auto, pep-boys, Etc.

Good luck.
John

Depending on your year model you may not even have to pop the door off. 07 and up shouldn't have to do much just the arm cover around the controls. Also just be warned, the switch doctor may not always honor their own warranty, tiny print says must be installed by a certified mechanic blah blah blah. So yea just be mindful of that. I had my problem in march, got new switch a few days later and then that switch went out tried to get it exchanged from switchdoctor and they said since I DIY'd it they would not honor my warranty anymore! Just some food fir thought, good luck guys and gals!

I have a 2007 F150 Super Crew 5.4L Lariat and had the same issue with the drivers side window. I took it in to the dealer and had it fixed. Recently it started having problems again and now none of the door windows work. I replaced the 30a circuit breaker but that didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions? If it is a broken ground as mentioned where is it located?

Talking 2007 F150 Driver Power Window Control Module

Up button started acting up on my truck. I followed the link posted by "lagasvd". Essentially all you need to get this job done in 30 mins is flat head screw driver and a knife. The switch module looked new when I took it out and there was a layer of 'stuff' at the contact point. I scraped clean the contacts with a knife and reassembled everything in 2 mins. It works perfectly and I am glad I saved $80.
