Default driver door lock

Found lots of threads but nothing with my particular problem.
Removed driver door lock to pull out a little dent below it. no hammering or anything. When I reassembled everthing ok EXCEPT. Inside door handle won.t raise lock button therefore outside handle remains locked. All buttons, key and auto lock work perfect.
I can't see that anything is amiss. Handle moves end in latch but won't raise lock button. Thanks for any help.

Default lock

I told my wife I triple checked everthing and did't see anything I missed.
I don't really know if this action is mechanical or electric.
Looks to be elec. I read a thread that said pulling fuse helped solve some door lock problems, like rebooting your pc, but that didn't help.
Downfall of this is If my wife opens door from inside then shuts it with keys inside she will be locked out. She does this a lot.
I can see movement at the end of actuator cable when I pull handle but no action on the **** linkage. Ran out of time till tomorrow then I will open up passenger door and check all hardware in that side.
Thank you for your response.

Post up pics of your inside so we can see if something isnt connected right. W/out being there, and no pics, its hard to say what it is (but sounds like something didnt get reconnected).

OK, no pics but I found out what was not happenning when I compared Pass, side to drivers side. Lever at end of handle cable moves a lever with white plastic( rubber) contact point to unlock mechanism and raise locking rod and button.
Passenger side does this perfect but driverside does not. looks like a little lip at contact is missing on driver side, and lever arm misses it by a hair. it is there on passenger side.
Guess I need to replace whoile unit. Thanks for your help and does this sound familiar to anyone.
