The dreaded plug replacement
In the little time ive been a part of this forum, Ive read way too many horror stories about changing out plugs in the 5.4 which almost pushed me away from it but hey its a machine and its prone to fail. Anyway dropped off my truck yesterday morning at the garage and got a call from the mechanic a half hour before they closed. All 8 plugs and coils were changed, not a single one broken!!!!! The mechanic said one of the biggest factors was probably, SeaFoam. He suggested that i run a few cans of it before bringing it in and it seemed to help out a ton. Now dont quote me on it, i might have just gotten lucky but for anyone else thats dreading the time of changing plugs i would recommend running a few cans through your ride before hand. It couldnt hurt right?! Hoping that sharing my experience there will be others that get to enjoy the same result.
Over the years, this site has gathered hundreds of posts suggesting methods to make the early 5.4 spark plug change an easier go. Seafoam is one of those.
Now that the 2004 to 2008 trucks are falling into the hands of early aged owners, or others new to these Ford F150's, we are starting to see these same questions and observations all over again. It's all here, for those who wish to search it out and read, or to easily rehash it all over again. No worries, F150forum will be here.
Hopefully, those who complain about threads that have been discussed before will simply move on, and not complain about it. They need to realize that these trucks continue to run, and exchange hands to new owners that are also new to the F150 scene.

To the OP, where did you run the Seafoam? If you put it in the oil I would not leave it there for more than a few hundred miles or so as it dilutes the oil and supposedly loosens gunk and sludge. If you put it in the fuel system carry on like normal.
And if you put it in your oil, it certainly didn't help with your plug change. Lol
Yeah it was through the fuel tank. I think i ran 1/tank for 4 or 5 tanks. Mechanic said maybe every 2000 miles or so run a can through it from now just to help with any future issues if i so choose. Hit it heavy for a month or so to help with the plug removal.
