Default The dreaded exhaust

I know this topic has been brought up a thousand times but I want to see if anyone has done what I would like, ive been reading many topics and im still have no idea what I want to do. Id like to have trueduals idealy, and have it exit out behond each rear wheel. Now for muffler is where I'm stumped, I heard flowmasters drone like hell, and that will annoy me im sure, but ive heard magna flow are great as well as borla. Does anyone have either companys DI/DO with internal x pipe andwhat you think of it. Also any other suggestions on this. I really wanta low deep rumble that is pretty loud. Thanks in advance

I have the Magnaflow DI/DO. Very low rumble at idle and not too loud at normal acceleration. However, when you really get on it, thats when you really hear it. Even then, it is not annoyingly loud. I love it. My dad has the Flowmaster Super 44 SI/DO and I would absolutely recommend the Magnaflow over that one. In the end it is a personal choice though. Good Luck

I went with a custom job. I bought this kit on ebay (for less) because Bassani makes some of the best sounding exhaust IMHO and it included an x-pipe crossover. I took it to an exhaust shop and had them run dual pipes from the "y" back to the x-pipe and installed in my 06. The fit was good considering the kit I purchased was for a 01-04 lightning.

I know this isnt the style of tailpipe you are looking at, but it worked well for me with no CEL problems.

I have a 04 f150 with a 4.6l and I told them to cut the muffler off and run two pipes out behind my tire and I love the way it sounds and my truck is still running strong.

Check out my album. Hopefully this will give you some ideas. Flowmasters belong on 1980's Camaros in the trailer park.

IMHO the best rumble o have found with my truck is deleting the muffler. And believe me after I got a welder I have tried flowmaster 40 and 10 and a magna flow and none of them cn beat a home made Y pipe. I still have all my cats and it really isn't that loud. Just a nice rumble.
