Default Dreaded 5.4 plug change

Well it was time for the dreaded plug change, changed them all out and 6 of the 8 broke, drained tranny fluid and coolant flush as well, cost me 492, for all the work. The Lisle tool is a great tool!!

Thanks Greg

Did you do that all yourself? How hard was the plug change.

At least you got them all out. Still too bad you had 6 break though. I wonder what the variables really are. I'm beginning to think the Seafoam or Techron fuel treatment before the job really does make a difference. I did the Seafoam and all mine came out.

I had 54,xxx on my truck when i done mine last weekend. I sprayed aero kroil in mine and let it set for about 10-20 mins. I didnt break any off. But they did screach and scream all the way out. When I turned my rachet, I turn one bump at a time. When I say bump, thats when you turn the rachet and it feels like a bump as you turn.

the thing i hate the most is when the hole is plugged up with dirt, so bad in fact i couldnt get a socket on the plug. a screwdriver and compressed air will fix it tho.

of coarse i have done two (one with 125k and the other 140) and no plugs broke. so that makes me an expert....right???
