to downsize to smaller tires or no...?

I just put a set of 275/70r18 Duratrac's on three weeks ago. Best tire I have ever bought! They are quite and the grip like crazy in the two feet of snow we just got out here in South Dakota (1st picture is the day before the snow) A friend of mine ran his for 56,000 miles before he replaced them with the same tire. Long tread life, quite, and comfortable, also very light compared to your trails. I'd buy them again in a heart beat and I only have 1000 miles on them.

For 2 years i had 295/70R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers and i was getting 285 miles per tank at best. I took those off for the same reasons and because one of my suppliers was running a sale on the 275/70R18 Terra Grapplers and now i am back at 325 miles per tank. Another thing to look at though is the weight of the tires. I emailed Falken and Nitto a while back to look at my next set of tires and found this information interesting. A 305/65R18 Falken Wildpeak AT 8 ply weighs 20 pounds more per tire than a 275/70R18 Terra Grappler and is only the slightest bit larger. I could run a 35" 10 ply Nitto with less weight than a 33" 8 ply Falken.

hhhmmm.....everytime I look at my truck I regret buying the 285/65/18 terra grapplers I just put on instead of larger trails or similar. But then reality steps in when I go to the pumps that I still can drive this thing on a trip and not completely kill the bank

This guy scrolled straight down and replied. Also i am not going to do the 305/65R18 due to the weight. I am however thinking about doing the 325/60R18 Nitto's because with my new 9" wide wheels the 275/70R18's just look too skinny.

Oh I thought I saw it on another thread somewhere. And I'm located in Albert Lea. two minnesota guys replied to my thread, kinda surprised haha
I hear ya. I coach basketball too and anytime I have to make a scouting trip to watch an opponent play I cringe at my MPG's.
haha yeah he did!
Oh gotcha. There is an F-150 in my town with 325 nittos and it looks sick. They are definitely way wider than my 295's or 275's. How much do the 325/60/18's weigh?
