Does your 5.4 destroy catalytic converters?
Just replaced my passenger's side cat. the truck only has 106k miles. It let go violently and caused a p0303 and p0420. $210 bucks later, the problem is solved. Is this a common Ford issue? Should I replace the driver's side soon too?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Umm, no, why would you think that?
OP
For the most part a bad cat is a symptom of an upstream issue, namely a rich fuel condition usually from a miss. This is why it is important to take care of a miss ASAP.
Unburnt fuel get into the can, causing excessive heat and melting.

Still factory at 155K. If they ever go, my plan is to just gut em and keep on rolling. Down here in MS we don't worry about that kind of stuff, we like being last in everything!

The 5.4 3V only destroys cats if not kept properly tuned-up.
