Default Does ford still use the 2 piece spark plugs

Hey guys, I who've a 2006 f 150 5.4L with 196,000 miles on her. I had the spark plugs change by ford in 09 ( which luckily none broke). I was wondering if they were still putting the 2 piece plugs in the tritons. I am due to change them and want to do them myself. If ford properly lubed them with anti seize, should I have any trouble with them. I regularly sea foam and and always up on maintenance. Thanks in advance

Assuming ford put Motorcraft plugs back in, yes they would be two piece.

You had them changed roughly five years ago. Is there a particular reason your changing them again? How many miles since change?

If dealer put any kind of anti seize on them you shouldn't have a problem. Seems a lot of guys have an extraction tool on hand just in case.

Mileage is going to be the best predictor as to whether or not you have problems. I would get a tool just in case. Unless you have another vehicle to drive while your truck sits in the garage with a broken spark plug lol

. I'm getting there on miles. I have roughly 80-90 thousands miles on them. I feel it's time to replace them. I can feel an existing problem I had when I had them changed the first time.

Even now, the OEM plugs are 2 piece. The one piece option is made by Champion.

Hi.

Yep - past due to get 'em outta there, pronto.

Ford's recommended interval is now 60K.

Good luck.

One piece or two, av never had any problems with the newer plugs.

The only problems av heard about its stripping the aluminum threads out of the head. That's if you crank em in too tight. Be warned.

I'll be waiting to hear how this goes for you. I'd put Ford plugs back in and I'm wondering myself how the anti sieze works over the long haul since that is how I recently installed a new set. Stock plug gaps are about 0.045" and by 90,000 miles I bet yours will be close to double that. 50K to 60K would be a much better interval. M1911

How is the one piece Champion hold up? Does anybody know? I wouldn't put the same plugs back in there if there's an option.
