Do it yourself brakes
Just changed front and rear pads and rotors on my 2007 5.4 XLT 4x4. Truck has 75,000 original pads/rotor so I figured I was due. A little over 300 bucks for parts at napa and 1hr 1/2 to do the job.
Everything went smooth except getting the rear rotors off..needed some elbow grease, all and all I'm happy and it's not that hard of a job.
Probably saved save bucks doing it myself.

I'm getting ready to replace front pads on my 06. Hope I did not make a mistake buying the ceramic pads as I read they do not perform well until they warm up.
But my question is this: How difficult is it to remove the stainless steel "slippers" that the pads sit in? My new brakes came with these slippers and my Haynes manual states it is imperative to replace these when replacing the pads. They look like they just clip onto a bar, but I am curious as to how difficult it is to remove them.
I have no experience with Rord brakes. I have done all my brake work for many years, but it has been with GM vehicles.
