do these trucks have front struts or shocks inside of springs? how to disassemble

Just a heads up to everyone... before you buy I would check www.completestruts.com since they seem to have the best prices (from what I can find online anyways). You don't have to disassemble or rebuild anything. Easy as cake.

A spring compressor is not required, but would make it easier to remove and install struts. I just used a rubber mallet. The big thing no one has mentioned is getting the 350 ftlbs of torque on the bottom bolt. My torque wrench only goes to 220ftlbs, so I used a 3.5' pipe on it to get me close. Also, torque the bolt down half way, jack up the lower control arm to compress the strut, then apply final torque. I bought Monroe struts on Amazon for $250 a pair, did the trick on my 2007 FX4 SuperCrew
