Default Do I have the HD tow package?

Trying to determine if my '07 F150 has the heavy duty tow package. It's got the 3.73 ratio, 7 pin connector, but I don't know for certain about the trans cooler. Also, the mirrors are not the extendable type. Receiver is rated for 9000 lbs with weight distributing hitch. It appears that it's the HD package, but I would appreciate comments from those who know more about the subject. Thanks!

I would say you do. My truck has the same setup. Only difference being 3.55 geared LSD. I have factory 4/7pin connector and transcooler. I went a step further and installed a brake controller which was plug n play as well as an aftermarket trans temp gauge. Towed 6K easily with no issues.

Thanks nrivera. I did add a brake controller. We're thinking about buying an Airstream trailer and I'm trying to determine how much I can safely haul. With a weight distribution hitch it looks like 9,900 lbs or so. I hope I have the trans cooler. I'm not sure if that's what I'm seeing or not.

That is a trans cooler.

I have the same setup, with 3.73 lsd as well. Make sure you look at the weight limits for each cab configuration. Even though I have the same factory hitch, I am limited to 9000 lbs because of my KR 20" wheels and supercrew cab. However, I doubt the AS will be close to 9k...

Try plugging your VIN into this site and see if it tells you what was installed factory.

I also have the supercrew but with 17" wheels. I think I'm good for 9k lbs and most airstreams are in the 6-8k range so I should be in good shape.

I just got a copy of the window sticker which shows a tow package. Not sure if it's heavy duty or not.

I think your limit is actually 9500 lbs IIRC...Google 2007 f150 towing capacities to be sure

My truck has max tow and I have 3.55LS gears. Do you have a 9.75 rear or the standard 8.8? Max Tow comes with the 9.75 rear. Mine also came with factory 20" rims, but that was an option that the previous owner added when he ordered the truck.

I think you have the standard tow package, and not max tow.

My rear has 12 bolts which according to what I read is the 9.75. I guess that's a good thing

The tow capacities are all in the owner's manual if you have one. So what is 'weight distributing' hitch?
