difficult to change rear shocks?

Default difficult to change rear shocks?

how difficult is it to change the rear shocks on stands and hand tools?

No stands are necessary. Simply unbolt the top and bottom mounts, pull the old shock off. It will expand when removed. Compress the new shock by hand to install it on both mounts and tighten them down. The fronts are a completely different story.

Doesnt the new shock come compress already? Compressing by hand is no joke.lol

All shocks come compressed, but they're compressed almost all the way down. You'll have to cut the straps on them. I used jack and jackstands so that max travel was reached in the rear and when you cut the straps, there should be no difference in height.

I did all four in my 2002 XLT 4x4 and it took maybe 1.5hrs... including beer breaks.

i did my rear shocks last week in about 10min lol. but i had a lift because i was replacing all 4 shocks.

super easy all you need is a 15mm and a 18mm wrench or socket approx 20 min job in a driveway

im sure i'd have to spray some ob blaster or something on the bolts to loosen them right? and you guys arent using like a rubber mallet to smack them out? surely they dont just pop right out. never did this on my own.

Leave the nut on the bolt but loose and hit it with a steel hammer to break it loose
