Default Differential

Hi all I noticed the other day that my rear differential was leakinging. What are the parts and pluids that Iwill be needing to change this myself.

Its a 2004 F10 5.4 v-8

80w90 fluid (approx 2 liters of fluid), w/friction modifier if you have a LS diff.

rtv sealant. exacto knife blade.

just unbolt the diff cover (there is no drain plug) clean the old sealant off, i usually clean the diff out with brake cleaner.

lay a bead of rtv sealant on the cover and put back in place, bolt it back down. wait about an hour and then fill fluid til it comes out the fill hole.

80w90 (actually 75w90 was the original spec) is no longer the correct weight oil for the rear end. 75w140 synthetic and 4 oz of friction modifier if you have the LS. I believe their is a TSB about this. Also I believe the rear takes up 2.5 - 3 quarts of oil. The front takes 2 I believe.
