I'm not an expert on it but I'll give it a try. The chips just plug into your truck with nothing that can be changed on them so you get whats on the chip. A dyno is much better because while on the dyno they connect computers to your truck to see the compression ratios, timing, shifting, horsepower, torque, etc and tune your computer by what data they have. There are also programmers that have canned tunes on them which overwrite the computer in the truck with a tune to give you more power and you can order custom tunes from companies on some programmers.

IMO the best tunes go from (worst to best) chip, programmer with canned tunes, programmer with custom tunes, and a dyno tune. The better you want the more it will cost though.

Street tuning is the best option. Same thing as dyno tuning except it's done in everyday conditions.
